Build
Web Development
Most sites are optimized after the fact — bolting SEO and performance onto a build that fought them the whole way. I build the other direction: sites that are fast, accessible, and search-ready by construction, on Astro and the JAMStack.
Why it matters
A site built on the right foundation doesn't need rescuing later. Clean, standards-based markup, minimal JavaScript, and edge hosting mean the technical SEO and Core Web Vitals work is largely done before launch.
It's also cheaper to run: static-first sites deploy to a CDN with no server to babysit and no surprise hosting bills as traffic grows.
And it's the foundation the rest of my work stands on. I can optimize a site with confidence because I understand exactly how it's built — often because I built it. Development isn't a side offering here; it's why the SEO advice is trustworthy.
What's included
- Astro / JAMStack builds — static-first, fast by default
- Semantic, accessible, standards-compliant markup
- SEO and structured data built in from the start, not retrofitted
- Content management that non-technical owners can actually use
- Edge/CDN deployment for speed and reliability
- A site that passes Core Web Vitals on day one
How I approach it
-
Scope
We get clear on what the site needs to do and who it's for before a line of code — so the build serves the goal, not the other way around.
-
Build
I develop in the open with a preview URL you can watch take shape. Performance and SEO are constraints from the first commit, not a cleanup pass.
-
Launch & hand off
The site ships to a fast CDN, and you get a setup you can actually maintain — with documentation, not a black box.
Common questions
Why Astro and the JAMStack instead of WordPress?
For most marketing and content sites, static-first is faster, more secure, and cheaper to run. It's a great fit when performance and SEO matter. Where a project genuinely needs a traditional CMS, I'll say so.
Can you rebuild my existing site without losing rankings?
Yes — that's a careful migration with redirect mapping and structure preserved so equity carries over. It's exactly the kind of work the technical-SEO discipline exists to protect.
