Speed
Performance & Core Web Vitals
Core Web Vitals are Google's measurable bar for user experience — how fast a page loads (LCP), how quickly it responds (INP), and how stable it is while loading (CLS). They're a ranking signal, and just as importantly, they decide whether a visitor stays or bounces.
Why it matters
Speed is where SEO and revenue meet. Slow pages rank lower and convert worse — visitors leave before they ever see your offer. Moving from a 'Poor' to a 'Good' Core Web Vitals profile is consistently linked to lower bounce rates and higher conversions.
Performance is also the most honest signal a business can send: a fast, stable site says you sweat the details.
What's included
- Lab and field Core Web Vitals measurement (LCP, INP, CLS)
- Image, font, and script optimization — the usual sources of slow loads
- Render-blocking resource elimination and lazy-loading where it helps
- Caching, CDN, and hosting review for fast, consistent delivery
- Before/after measurements so the improvement is provable, not asserted
How I approach it
-
Measure
I capture a real baseline — lab scores plus field data where it exists — so we're optimizing against numbers, not vibes.
-
Optimize
I work down the list of what's actually slowing the page: oversized images, heavy scripts, blocking resources, layout shift. Biggest wins first.
-
Prove it
I re-measure and show the before/after. If a change didn't move the number, it doesn't count.
Common questions
My site is on WordPress / Shopify / Squarespace — can you still help?
Yes. Many Core Web Vitals wins are platform-agnostic — images, fonts, third-party scripts, and caching. I'll tell you honestly where a platform's ceiling is and what's achievable within it.
Isn't a good PageSpeed score enough?
The lab score is a proxy. What matters is field data from real visitors and whether the fixes hold up under real conditions — that's what I optimize toward.
